Captivating
Online Courses
Who we are
Jumpcut creates captivating online courses about entrepreneurship.

There are over 1.3 million college students in the United States today majoring in business, but the classes they take are hideously outdated, and irrelevant to their future careers. Business education is fundamentally broken.

Jumpcut is where the next generation of entrepreneurs will be developed. Our online courses help people develop the skills they need in order to turn their passions into a successful business.

Our first course is a comprehensive YouTube Influencer course, where the world's top influencers teach you how to create compelling, original content, develop a massive following online, and monetize your audience so that you can live a life pursuing your passions.

We make mindblowing online courses.
Most online courses suck...unless you enjoy paying for monotonous lectures with a powerpoint slide or two thrown in. At Jumpcut, we ditch the traditional lecture-style course and utilize storytelling, cinematography, and soundtracks to make each course feel like a movie. To see how much of a difference this makes, push “c” while watching this video.
We all have a “before Jumpcut” and “after Jumpcut” version of ourselves.
Everybody that works at Jumpcut has one thing in common: when they look back to the day they were hired, they don’t even recognize themselves. That’s because we approach personal growth a little differently.
Meet Kong, the CEO.
He’s a retired YouTuber, French Bulldog owner, sous vide enthusiast, and college dropout turned YC founder. Now, he spends most of his time changing the landscape of online education, one course at a time. If you want the tl;dr on Kong, watch this walking (one take) interview.

Jumpcut is a Y combinator and venture-backed startup that creates cinematic online courses for entrepreneurs.

The founding team at Jumpcut has years of experience creating binge-worthy content — we’ve created multiple viral YouTube channels that now have over 4.5 million subscribers and over 500 million views. We’re now taking that content creation experience and applying it to the monotonous world of online education.

If you’ve ever taken an online course, you already know that 99% of them suck. That’s because they all do the same thing: record a dry and uninspiring instructor who talks to the camera for hours on end. While this is fantastic for getting over an Ambien addiction, it’s atrocious for actual learning.

Think about what can be done with video: we have the ability to create things like Avatar, The Dark Knight, and Game of Thrones, but the status quo when it comes to online courses is this. In an ice cream parlor of unlimited flavors, every other online education company has opted for vanilla. We have our eye on the mint triple chocolate chip birthday cake cookie dough with strawberry whipped cream and banana nut sprinkles.

Our team is approaching online learning in a completely new way: combining educational content with compelling stories, captivating cinematography, creative soundtracks, and much more. The result is a beautiful course that feels like a movie. We believe the future of education lies in creating world-class content.

If you want to learn more about our vision, check out our blog post about the future of education.

Here’s a visual example of the difference between most online courses, and ours.

Careers at Jumpcut
Marketing Engineering Product Production
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Reporting to: CEO

Jumpcut is looking for someone to join our leadership team as the Director of Marketing. This role will report directly to the CEO, and will play a fundamental part in building out our marketing team! We made over $10M selling directly to consumers last year with an insanely small marketing team. Your role will be to take us to $100 million over the next 4 years.

Jumpcut is a school for digital entrepreneurs. Over 100 million people in America want to be their own boss and start their own businesses.

Our goal is to help people start successful businesses in every area of digital entrepreneurship. Whether you want to become a YouTube influencer, start your own eCommerce shop, or start freelancing, our courses give you step by step instruction to actualizing your goals. In addition to online courses, we heavily invest in our best students, and give them strategic and operational support to grow even faster.

Role Overview:

You’ll be reporting directly to our CEO, Kong, as the Director of Marketing, and will be responsible for building and managing our paid acquisition team, our marketing content team (sales pages, email copy), as well as our product marketing team (monthly launches, new product offerings). We are a direct to consumer company, and think of ourselves in the same vein as the Warby Parker / Casper’s of the world -- the biggest responsibility you’ll have is laying out the marketing vision for our company.
Responsibilities:
  • Working with the CEO, set the marketing vision for our company -- what our brand stands for, and how best to communicate that with the world
  • Scale our marketing functions into a fully-formed department, with full teams in every area, from paid acquisition to organic to social
  • Manage and set scalable growth goals for all our marketing sub-teams
  • Manage the day-to-day logistics of project plans by owning timelines, budgets, and analysis/recaps/reports
  • Collaborate with the content, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize marketing goals with other company goals
  • Build and manage customer lifetime value models, marketing attribution models, and other ways of measuring marketing performance
  • Be the strategic voice of the brand and provide support for the design, development and implementation of all consumer facing touchpoints to ensure consistency of brand vision
  • Role Requirements:
  • 4+ years experience in marketing leadership at a direct to consumer company
  • Strong experience in direct response and performance marketing, with a focus on acquisition and an understanding of content
  • Seasoned in creating, managing, optimizing, and maturing omni-channel campaigns and strategy (paid acquisition, organic social, SEO, email, etc.)
  • Managed/scaled an in-house marketing team of 4+ people
  • Additionally, you might be a good fit if…
  • You’re a manager at a medium to large direct to consumer company now, but want to move to a smaller company, take on more strategic responsibility, and help scale
  • You are highly skilled at being agile and can pivot priorities, strategies, and initiatives, on a dime
  • You are not afraid to jump "into the weeds" when needed
  • You want to work to change the future of education
  • If you’ve made it this far, you should probably hit that nice looking green button below and apply. We’ll talk to you soon!
